BassRock Guitars – Eric Bright

I’ve spent my whole life on and off playing in the woods, building stuff, and marveling at natural materials and wood and what you can do with it. I’ve also been an acoustic guitar player all my adult life.
After retiring from a wonderful career in special education, it was like a dream come true to move to my favorite place in the world – Schroon Lake NY, and live remotely in the woods and build acoustic guitars from local wood.
I come from a long line of artists. And we’re stubborn individualists. We like to do things our way and often shun tradition. My guitars reflect this balance between a work of art, with extensive burl and pearl inlay that you want to display in your home, and yet incorporate the crucial elements that make a fine guitar in sound, comfort, and playability.
My guitars are made of local woods because we have wonderful woods here in the Adirondack Mountains, and we really shouldn’t, and don’t need to, import “trophy woods” from the other side of the world.
