I have had a love and passion for woodworking since I was a young boy. As a teenager, I was fortunate enough to apprentice with a master guitar builder for a number of years before setting out on my own. Even though I worked in the fields of carpentry, cabinetmaking, antique restoration, knife making, and of course, guitar making, no matter what career work I was doing at the time, there was always a guitar on my bench.
After 45 years of making and repairing guitars, I would describe myself as a “traditional” builder and have been influenced by guitar makers like D’Angelico, Martin, and Gibson. Of course, the difference is that every one of my guitars, whether arch top, flat top, ladder braced, or solid body is built entirely by my own hand, one at a time.
Any experienced craftsman will tell you that one never stops learning, even at a master level. I am continually evaluating every technique and improving every process so that I can be sure that each guitar I make for a customer will turn out to be the perfect guitar for them.
