Tim started making guitars in 1989 while still in high school. He made his first archtop in 1996 after taking Tom Ribbecke’s class. After receiving a BFA in jazz bass from CalArts, he spent seventeen years on the repair staff at Gary Brawer’s shop in San Francisco, California, and three years at Gryphon Stringed Instruments in Palo Alto, California. He now lives in Portland, Oregon where he splits his time between repair, restoration, and making new instruments.
