This 17" Jazz Laureate Model acoustic archtop was made in 2020. The top is German Spruce, and the sides and back are master-grade Koa. For many years I've made archtops with several kinds of curly Maple, and also Koa. The Koa is a more complex tone than the more fundamental tone of Maple. The overtones are clearer and more pronounced than any Maple I've used. Of the approximate 450 archtops I've made, I do think that my favorites are made with Koa back and sides. This guitar has a big, well-balanced acoustic tone. No pickup is included although one could be added if requested - the price depends on the type of pickup.
