This little beauty is made with an old Avocado wood log! A good friend of mine commissioned this using his wood, neither one of us knowing how it would turn out. All who have seen it compliment its beauty and very much like the tone and playability. It really projects and is well-balanced. We took this instrument to a local band concert in Fallbrook, CA, near where the wood came from and also where the new owner lives. Lots of people played it and loved it, including a really good Hawaiian friend who plays a Kamaka and he wants one of these. It has Gotoh tuners and blue paua shell purfling with nice tortoise shell celluloid binding. A nice, fine white line adds a bit of elegance. It is all Avocado Wood including the neck.
This one is sold and it looks like a few more as well. We have wood for 2 more but there is another old log we think. The price is a bargain for one of these!
