Kestrel Medium Body Acoustic in Ziricote and Engelmann Spruce
The Soderlund Kestrel is a radical redesign of the essential structural bones of the acoustic guitar, increasing projection, harmonic complexity, playability, and serviceability. Thin tops, light falcate bracing, and minimal aesthetics combine to produce competitively priced, powerful, balanced guitars that allow neck adjustments in minutes.
This medium body instrument, in Honduran mahogany and Adirondack spruce, is a generalist instrument that has reasonable headroom, but a capacity to respond sensitively to changes in dynamics. Its multiscale neck is short on the treble side (24.5 inches) and a more standard length on the bass side (25.5 inches), providing clear, sparkling treble tones and full bass response, helped along by the 4.5-inch deep body. The side sound port provides immediate, bass-rich feedback to the player.
