This Larry Coryell ("LC") model was built in 2019/2020 and has a rare set of 1967 master grade Brazilian Rosewood sides and back with a master grade German Spruce top. Renowned luthier Michael Gurian cut it himself in Brazil in 1967. It is perfectly quarter-sawn, straight-grained, and extremely rare.
I developed the LC model in 2001 in collaboration with the great jazz guitarist Larry Coryell. He needed a flattop guitar that had a strong, clear midrange and high-end response, without boominess in the bass. By using a combination of “X” and parallel bracing, as well as an elliptical soundhole, the LC enhances the power of the mid and upper ranges of the tonal spectrum.
