The Loerie Series is a revolution in ergonomic electric guitar design. This is a super comfortable, compact, lightweight, S-Style Loerie in hard Pear and Khaya Mahogany. Padauk trim fills out an all-African wood project, topped with an Italian-made multiscale tremolo from T4M and 60s strat pickups from Porter Pickups. See guitar specifications below.
The loerie (also known as Turaco) is a family of forest birds endemic to southern Africa. Their design lines are rather strikingly beautiful and topped only by the beautiful colors of many of the birds in this family. One of the best known is the Knysna loerie, a gorgeous creature that congregates in family groups in evergreen forest canopies. This line of guitars drew design inspiration from these birds and this particular instrument is made using hard pear, a tree that is common in Knysna, the natural habitat of the Knysna loerie, shown here.
