This is my small jumbo model (Irvin SJ) featuring a Florentine cutaway. The SJ is designed to be an explosive and versatile instrument. It has the fingerstyle player in mind, yet gives them the capability to let the full sound of a sweet strum hang in the air for as long as you want it to. It is extremely well suited for alternate tunings.
This featured guitar has a mosaic style rosette utilizing Maple, Ebony, and Koa woods. The sound hole is bound with Ebony. All the inlays inside and around the cutaway as well as the back strips are Koa which all works to add a fun and delightful presence to this one-of-a-kind instrument.
The 'dancing inlays' SJ is a dream to play. It is wonderfully balanced, with beautiful bass response, huge harmonics, great clarity and note separation. It has loads of volume when you need it.
